Lodge Irvine Newtown

 

 

 

 

The Lodge was formed on 4th of Feb 1971 our main sponsors were the Mother Lodge No 0, Lodge Irvine St Andrew 149 and Hamilton Military 668. The Lodge chose the Ancient Grant Tartan for their Regalia

The Election and Consecration of the Lodge took place at the Masonic Temple, Bank Street, Irvine on Sat 24th April 1971. The Ceremony was carried out by the Provincial Grand Lodge of Ayrshire. The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master being Bro, Gregor Grant. The first Right Worshipful Master to be Elected was Bro, Lauchlan Curdy who was Installed by R.W.P.G.M. Bro, Gregor Grant.

On Friday 6th of April 1979 the first Initiated Member of the Lodge to be Elected as Right Worshipful Master was Bro, David McAllister who was Installed by Past Masters Bro, George Hutcheson and Bro, John Moore. Both Past Masters of Lodge Irvine Newtown

On November 1990 the Lodge formed ties with Acacia Lodge 4512 E.C. when eight Brethren travelled down to the city of Liverpool for a regular meeting of Acacia Lodge 4512. The ties that were formed were so strong that on the 15th of November 2002 Twenty two Brethren in full highland dress travelled to Acacia Lodge 4512 to witness a Past Master of Lodge Irvine Newtown 1662 being Installed as Worshipful Master of Acacia Lodge 4512, P.M. Bro, Robert McBride

In 1996 the Lodge Celebrated It`s 25th year and on Friday 16th of Feb 1996 the Lodge held a 25th Re-Dedication Ceremony within the Masonic Temple Bank Street Irvine. The R.W.M. Bro, James Hutchison Presiding in the chair . The Ceremony was carried out by the Provincial Grand Lodge of Ayrshire R.W.P.G. Master Bro, William Rae headed the deputation of Provincial Grand Lodge .

 

On Sat 20th April 1996 Bro, Eric Leach was Installed by Bro, John Mitchell P.M. 1662 and Bro, Robert McBride P.M. 1662

 

 

On Saturday 25th May 1996 a 25th year Anniversary Ball was held within the Hospitality Inn Hotel Irvine, Where the R.W.M. Bro, Eric Leach Welcomed all the guests .  ( photo of Past Masters who attended 25th year ball )

To Mark our 25th Year Anniversary the Lodge had a 25th Jewel and a silver Mark Token Struck

In the Millennium Year 2000 Bro, Andrew Lang was Installed as Right Worshipful Master by Bro, Tom Surgenor P.M. of  1662 and Bro, Robert McBride P.M. of 1662 on 15th April 2000 within the Masonic Temple Bank Street Irvine.
